Maine Windjammer Association offers the ideal venue for corporate retreats and team building
Looking for the ideal venue to not only support your corporate retreat and team building exercises, but one that embodies the spirit of man and nature? Consider working with the Maine Windjammer Association, the largest fleet of historic working windjammers in America. Take the team, head off to sea – totally unplugged and away from the distractions of the office. The boats within the Maine Windjammer Association offer a venue where teamwork thrives. It’s here you and your team can clarify and practice the role of impeccable communication, shared reliance and leadership.
Corporate outings and learning retreats on board a Maine Windjammer Association vessel offers employers and employees the opportunity to relax and enjoy the camaraderie of shared group activities in an outdoor setting that also emphasizes collaboration and solidarity. Work hand in hand with the captain and crew of the historic vessels in the Maine Windjammer Association fleet on exercises that focus on:
- Communication
- Problem Solving
- Leadership
- Teamwork
- Relationship Building
- Honesty
- Collaboration & delegation
Consider an onboard retreat where three delicious meals a day are topped only by experiences that help your team grow together. You might take the wheel and steer a course that is collectively determined or help the crew hoist sails then climb the rigging for the ultimate challenge. You’ll work hand-in-hand with the captain of the boat and crew to develop exercises and activities that build a strong team.
Afterward, enjoy time exploring harbors, small coastal towns or uninhabited islands. Take a try at sailing or rowing one of the small boats. And of course, each trip comes complete with a lobster bake – ideally on one of those special islands worth exploring. Your team will end the night under the stars contemplating the light of the moon instead the screen of a computer or phone.
The Maine Windjammer Association fleet offers eight historic windjammers, accommodating anywhere from 16 to 40 passengers in single and double cabins. Private charters are available for corporate retreats, family reunions, church and school groups. The earlier the charters are scheduled, the better. It’s not uncommon to schedule a retreat one or two years out to insure the dates are available.
